“Water and Sanitation is one of the primary drivers of public health. I often refer to it as “Health 101”, which means that once we can secure access to clean water and to adequate sanitation facilities for all people, irrespective of the difference in their living conditions, a huge battle against all kinds of diseases will be won.”

Children are the fastest victims of waterborne diseases as they have low immunity levels. Typically children spend most of their active time in their school. Elimination of water-related diseases among children would reduce loss of school hours due to illness so that they ultimately lead a disease free life and develop into healthy adults. The effect of safe drinking is directly proportional to school attendance hence it can be easily reviewed.
